Hunter's Fund is a philanthropy event that my frat does (Phi Kapp Psi) as charity work. We set up a table on campus and get people to sign a pledge to not drive while being distracted (like texting while driving). We also ask for money from people to fund the event, and a portion of that money goes to Hunter's Fund. Which helps fund other tablings across the nation so people are less likely to drive while being distracted. This is all in honor of Hunter Watson, who died in 2016 in a distracted driving incident. The Hub is another charity I have volunteered for. The Hub is a non-profit cafe that is run mostly by volunteers. The profits of the cafe, including the money that is saved by volunteer work, is then donated to charity. Working here gave me great experience with serving customers directly. In fact, I was trained by a professional barista to make lattes and espressos for people, so I was a major factor in making sure the customer was happy with The Hub's product. Combined with my job at Walmart in high school, these two roles completed my experience of helping individual customers by directly fulfilling their needs, on a person-by-person basis.
